Yankees: Game 1 vs Braves Postponed Due To Rain

Unfortunately, the first game of YankeesBraves will have to wait. Tonight’s game has been postponed due to ongoing rain showers.

Tonight’s game will be made-up in a day-night doubleheader tomorrow. The first game will start at 4:10 P.M. The second game’s scheduled first pitch will be at 7:10 P.M., pending the completion of the first game.

Gerrit Cole will start the first game against young right-hander Ian Anderson. Masahiro Tanaka will start the second game against southpaw Max Fried.

This series is going to be highlighted by the return of Yankees star outfielder Aaron Judge. After the first game of the Red Sox series, he landed on the injured list on August 14th.

In the previous series, the Tampa Bay Rays swept the Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The team hasn’t played since August 20, due to the Subway Series being canceled because of a positive COVID-19 test on the Mets.

The Atlanta Braves are coming off of a series victory against the Philadelphia Phillies. They will also see the return of outfielders Nick Markakis and Ronald Acuña Jr.

Currently, the Yankees are 0.5 games back of the division lead. To their disadvantage, the team will not play tonight and won’t have a chance to get back into first place.

The Rays are currently facing the Baltimore Orioles in a three-game series at Tropicana Field.

Unsurprisingly, the Braves currently are leading the National League East by 1.5 games.

Notably, the Yankees will look to rebound while the Braves will continue to maintain their consistent line of winning.

This is going to be a tough stretch for the Yankees as they will have play three doubleheaders in five days.
