Tonights scheduled Islanders vs Flyers game three has been postponed due to the ongoing protests of Jacob Blake. The game, which was originally scheduled for tonight at 7 PM, will now be moved to a later date that is yet to be announced.
What Went Down
Yesterday saw the postponement of three NBA games following the Bucks decision to boycott their game against the Magic. Following the decision to postpone their game, the two other scheduled NBA games followed. No NBA games were played yesterday. Along with the NBA, the WNBA, MLB, and MLS all saw games boycotted.
The NHL was the only major sports league that did not see any cancellation of games as all three NHL games, including the Islanders and Flyers game, went on as scheduled. Earlier this morning, Islanders head coach Barry Trotz stated that he believed that the game would go ahead unless the players decided not to.
The NBA also announced today that they would continue the playoffs. After the previous discussion of the season being canceled last night. It is safe to assume that the NHL at some point would resume play. But the timing is still to be determined and announced.
