Jets: RB Le’Veon Bell, Others Placed on Injured Reserve

New York Jets RB Le’Veon Bell has been placed on the Injured Reserve after suffering a hamstring injury during Sunday’s season opener against the Buffalo Bills. That means Bell will at least miss 3 games. Tough blow for the Jets as they can’t afford to lose players to injuries.

So now the running back room will look like this: Frank Gore, Josh Adams, and Kalen Ballage. Lamical Perine, the rookie running back is facing a sprained ankle injury and the time table for him to come back is unknown as of now. Ballage was just picked up by the Jets from the Miami Dolphins this afternoon.  Not good that Bell is injured this early as he is the best Jets player on offense right now.

Two other players who were put on the Injured Reserve today were wide receiver Denzel Mims who has a hamstring problem and linebacker Blake Cashman who injured his groin in the season opener. Another big blow as Denzel Mims hasn’t even played an NFL game yet and he is a rookie. Cashman had a good training camp this year. So the injuries appear to be really bad blows for the Jets. They now need to seek all the help they could find.

Bell, Mims, and Cashman will miss at least three games with the new injured reserve rules set by the league.
