Following last night’s game, the New York Yankees optioned infielder Thairo Estrada to the alternate training site without announcing a corresponding move. Shortly after, the team activated star outfielder Aaron Judge off of the injured list earlier than expected.
Before going down with a calf strain, Judge was having an MVP type of season. He was hitting .292 with 9 home runs and 20 runs batted in. This will be the first time The Yankees will have a fully healthy lineup since opening day. That lineup looked like this…
Aaron Hicks CF
Aaron Judge RF
Luke Voit 1B
Gio Urshela 3B
Tyler Wade 2B
Once again, the Yankee lineup is in full strength. All the important hitters are returning at the right time. Hopefully, the lineup regains momentum in the coming days and weeks. The Yankees are still trying to chase the Tampa Bay Rays for the AL East Division Title. The Bronx Bombers are currently slotted in as the 5th seed in a loaded American League. If the playoffs began today, the Yankees would face the Minnesota Twins. Two loaded offenses in a three-game wildcard series. The Yanks have owned the Twins in multiple playoff series, dating back to 2003.
In the nick of time, the Yankees are rolling.
