New York Jets: Injuries, Injuries, and More Injuries

In just two games, the season has already fallen downhill for the New York Jets. Injuries are playing a role. Not taking anything away from how poorly the team has played.

The winless Jets are gearing up to face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Bad news, some key parts of the offense and could be out.

Just yesterday, the New York Jets placed starting right tackle George Fant in concussion protocol.  He will likely not start Sunday. In his place, backup Chuma Edoga will start.

Starting slot receiver Jamison Crowder is still struggling with a hamstring injury and is doubtful to play Sunday. Once again, Braxton Berrios will get the start as the Jets’ slot receiver.

Wide receiver Breshad Perriman is still battling an ankle injury from Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. He’s unlikely to play for the next two weeks.  Josh Malone will start in his place. But, there has been speculation that training camp star Lawrence Cager could be brought up from the practice squad.

Starting center Connor McGovern also got injured in Sunday’s game. McGovern has been battling a hamstring injury and is unlikely to play for the next weeks.

Wide receiver Chris Hogan was limited today in practice as he continues to rehabilitate a rib injury. His status is questionable for Sunday’s game.

Injuries at the skill positions continue to scathe Sam Darnold‘s growth.

In other news, backup quarterback Joe Flacco practiced fully for the first time as a Jet. For once, good news.

Injuries continue to ravage the Jets. But, Gang Green is not the only team to face an injury crisis like this. Most of the NFL has seen injuries to key players on both sides of the ball.

But for the second straight season, the Jets have been hit with a very bad injury bug.
