Yankees Look to Win Best-of-Three Versus the Indians

The Indians and Yankees will begin to play their postseason this Tuesday.  To advance, the Yankees must win two of the three games.  The Indians’ season has been so successful due to their starting pitcher.  They announced the starters for the series will be Shane Bieber, Carlos Carrasco, and Zach Plesac if game three is necessary.  The Yankees bats must be consistent in this series to take down Cleveland

Shane Bieber and Gerrit Cole Will Pitch in Game One

The ace of each team looks to take a crucial lead by keeping the opposing bats quiet.  Shane Bieber has been very successful this season at keeping the opponent off the scoreboard leading to him winning the pitching triple crown and will likely receive the Cy Young award.  Therefore, scoring chances will be at an unusual low for the Bronx Bombers.  Gerrit Cole has been exceptional recently when Kyle Higashioka is behind the plate so the duo looks to continue their dominance this year against Cleveland.  It will likely be a low-scoring game meaning there will, in all likelihood, be a rare pitchers duel to witness.

Masahiro Tanaka Looks to Continue his Postseason Dominance

Masahiro Tanaka has been phenomenal in his postseason career.  He looks to continue to build to his impressive postseason resume.  The opposing pitcher will be Carlos Carrasco.  The theme of dominant pitching will likely continue in game two.  If either team can figure out the other’s starting pitching things will look good for them.  The Yankees are a much more healthy team now then they were at some points in this season and if theses players can contribute, the series could be over in two games.  If the teams split the first two games they will play in a game three to see who moves on.

Who Will Advance? The Yankees or Indians

The series will probably go three games.  So who can edge out the other in a game three?  Zach Plesac will start game 3 for the Indians while the Yankees have not announced who their game 3 starting pitcher would be so once again the game will come down to who can capitalize on the scoring chances they get.  The Yankees have had ups and downs in their season, but that hasn’t diminished their hopes of a World Series.  Only time will tell what they are capable of achieving.
