Today, the New York Jets announced that they will be placing starting wide receiver Chris Hogan on the injured reserve list. Hogan suffered a high ankle sprain late in the game Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
In a corresponding move, they brought up cornerback Lamar Jackson from the practice squad. Wide receiver Josh Malone got re-signed to the practice squad.
Chris Hogan is expected to be sidelined for the next three games. The 31-year old Hogan was signed in training camp due to injuries at the wide receiver position.
Hogan joins Denzel Mims, Patrick Onwuasor, Arthur Maulet, and others who have hit the injured reserve list.
The New York Jets will fly to Miami to face a Dolphins team coming off a stunning win in San Francisco. As a result, expect Jeff Smith and Jamison Crowder to see an uptick in targets. Those two receivers plus Braxton Berrios are the only healthy receivers on the team’s active roster.
Breshad Perriman has missed the past three games due to injury. Denzel Mims pulled a hamstring in training camp and has been out since. He’s at least two or three weeks away from returning.
The Jets remain uncertain about who will be the starting quarterback for this week’s contest.
