Breaking: Jets Trade LB Jordan Willis to 49ers

The winless New York Jets made their second trade in three days when they dealt linebacker Jordan Willis to the San Francisco 49ers. Not the type of trade you expect the team to make.

Shortly after Sunday’s shutout loss to the Miami Dolphins, the Jets decided to trade veteran defensive tackle Steve McLendon and a 2023 seventh-round pick to the Tampa Bay Buccanneers. In return, Gang Green received a 2022 6th round pick from Tampa Bay.

Along with Jordan Willis, the New York Jets sent a 2020 seventh-round pick to San Francisco. In return, the Jets received a 2020 sixth-round pick.

Willis has only played two games this season with the Jets. In those two games, he recorded one fumble recovery.  He’s lost playing time to John Franklin-Myers and undrafted rookie Bryce Huff.

In 11 games total played for Gang Green, Jordan Willis has recorded one sack, two quarterback hits, seven combined tackles, and one fumble recovery.

It seems as though the team is giving the young guys more playing time. Willis will likely be a situational pass-rusher on the 49ers.

Jordan Willis has not done much in his NFL career. He was a third-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Bengals in 2017.
