Despite Gang Green playing terrible football, reinforcements are returning. Some roster moves were made in the process.
First, the Jets have activated rookie Jabari Zuniga from the injured reserve list and placed him on the active roster. More importantly, the team also designated linebacker Patrick Onwuasor to return to practice.
Also, Gang Green placed outside linebacker Kyle Phillips on injured reserve.

Kyle Phillips sustained an ankle injury during Sunday’s contest against the Buffalo Bills. He is out for the remainder of the season. In seven games this season, Phillips has recorded 11 tackles, three tackles for loss, and a quarterback hit. He signed with Gang Green as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He recorded 52 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Gang Green signed linebacker Patrick Onwuasor to a one-year deal this offseason. Onwuasor played his previous four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. In Baltimore, he totaled 234 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, and 19 quarterback hits. In his final season with the Ravens, Onwuasor recorded 48 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks, and six quarterback hits.
Lawrence Cager hurt his hamstring while running a route against the Denver Broncos in Week 4. The team placed on the practice squad injured reserve on October 7. The team called up Cager for Week 3’s contest against the Indianapolis Colts. In Week 3, Cager recorded two receptions for 37 yards. On May 6, he signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia.
David Fales re-signed with the Jets in the offseason and played in two games in 2019. The team cut him during preseason cuts and re-signed him to the practice squad.
