Knicks Close Team Facility After Positive COVID-19 Tests

Today, the New York Knicks shut down their practice facility in Tarrytown after three employees tested positive for COVID-19. The team made a statement regarding the closure today.

The Knicks’ team facility in upstate New York gonna undergo a “thorough cleaning” before being reopened at a later date.

New York has not played since March when the NBA halted the league because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Knicks did not qualify for the postseason or participate in the NBA bubble. They finished their short season 21-45.

These positive COVID-19 tests come a couple weeks after the NBA allowed teams to reopen their practice facilities.

As a matter of fact, all positive employees were asymptomatic.

The team hopes this isn’t too serious. The NBA will allow teams to start training camp on December 1st.

The NBA season starts on December 22. The Knicks will actually play games at Madison Square Garden this season. There will be no bubble.

Fortunately, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau was able to work with players who haven’t seen game action since March. The team also held mini-camp last month.

It’s about to be an important time for the NBA. The NBA Draft is supposed to start on November 18. Free agency is  starting November 20.
