The Nets will look for Brown to provide a scoring presence off the bench in lieu of a potential James Harden trade. Brown has been a career bench player that has shown glimpses of explosiveness. At 24 years old, there is still time for Brown to develop into a legitimate starter in the league one day.
During Bruce Brown’s two year career so far, he has averaged 6.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. Last season, he showed that he can play consistently off the bench, scoring 8.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4 assists, and even playing very good defensively notching 1.1 steals per game.
He is known for his defensive prowess and can guard the opponent’s best player.
The Detriot Pistons are also getting a young piece in Musa. In Musa’s sophomore season last year, he averaged 4.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists. He still has enough time to become a very solid player for the Pistons later in his career. The Pistons are also getting a 2021 second-round pick that will help them prepare for the future. Look for Brown to contribute in a limited role while providing more consistent scoring than Musa did.
