With the Fantasy trade deadline quickly approaching in most leagues fantasy managers are running out of time to get the reinforcements they need. A lot of players with easy matchups to end the season should be available via trade. Here are some players you should look to target within the next few days.
WR Darius Slayton New York Giants
While The Giants are on bye this week Slayton is a player I would target and stash for the weeks to come. At the time of writing the Giants are a half-game back of the division lead with a few winnable games left on the schedule. The Giants are on bye this week but the near future looks bright for Big Blue.
Over the next six weeks, the Giants play the Bengals, the Seahawks, the Cardinals, the Browns, the Ravens, and the Cowboys. All of these are winnable games for the G-men but what we need to look at here is the matchup for wide receivers. The remaining teams on the schedule give up the 17th most 1st most 14th most 5th most 27th most and 6th most points to wide receivers respectively. He averages 6.4 targets per game through 10 games so far this season however, I expect his targets to increase as we draw closer to the end of the season.
RB Antonio Gibson Washington Football Team
Gibson has been a model of consistency for Washington who otherwise has been pretty shaky all year. Unless you play in a big league Gibson should be available or at least someone other managers will be willing to trade for the right price. Washington’s defense will always keep them in the game allowing them to diversify their offense and give Gibson the carries he deserves. Gibson has a touchdown in three of his last four games and four touchdowns overall. His production has been trending upwards for the last three weeks and I’d expect more of the same as Alex Smith and the rest of the team continues to play considerably better down the stretch with Gibson being their main weapon and one of their best players.
WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling Green Bay Packers
The play by play announcer on the Packers broadcast this past Sunday said it best “Devante Adams is gonna get his.” While this is one hundred percent accurate Marquez Valdez-Scantling has seen a dramatic increase in production over the last three weeks he had two really good games and one not so good one. In week eight he had 3.3 points but in the next two he put up 19.3 and 24.9 points respectively. While it is hard to know if this upswing in production will continue but I think that it is a risk worth raking if you are in need of wide receiver help.
WR DJ Chark Jacksonville Jaguars
Chark won’t light up the scoreboard week after week but the targets are there for the young receiver. He averages 5.5 targets per game this season which is a good amount considering he is Jacksonville’s only real weapon on the outside. Another upside with the former LSU Tiger is when he makes catches they usually break for big yardage. It shouldn’t take much to acquire him for your fantasy roster so I’d explore it if it is an option.
While these players are very boom or bust if you need last-minute help these are players that you should look to acquire before the clock strikes midnight on your trade deadline.
