Despite releasing Theo Pinson a couple of days ago, the New York Knicks have signed him to a two-way contract. The shooting guard/small forward will likely play a small role for New York but could be helpful as a rotation player.
How will Theo Pinson be utilized?
The Knicks have been struggling to find a small forward who can play consistently as a starter. Theo Pinson will expect to play low minutes off the bench due to an uneventful season in Brooklyn where he averaged three points per game with a 29% field goal percentage.
Pinson is mainly known for being a cheerleader on the bench. Surely enough, he’ll become a fan favorite when fans return to Madison Square Garden.
Another One-Year Contract For The Knicks
The New York Knicks have made four different signings so far during free agency, with each one being a one year deal. Similarly to last off-season, the New York Knicks have given up on making any big signings. Elfrid Payton, Alec Burks, Nerlens Noel, and Theo Pinson have all been signed on one year deals. Fans are hoping a big deal could be on the horizon for them.
With around $30 million in cap space, Leon Rose still has work to do this off-season.
