The 2020 NFL Season has brought many changes to players’ daily life. For example, the coronavirus pandemic has changed many player’s lives and teams have been forced to adapt to unforeseen circumstances. Today, Giants cornerback James Bradberry was placed on the COVID-19 Reserve list. This means he either tested positive for coronavirus or was in close contact with someone that had it. Sadly, he will miss Sunday’s matchup with the Cleveland Browns.
This week’s Giants is a game is huge, and without their star corner, the Giants’ playoff hopes are going away. Against a high-powered offense in the Cleveland Browns, the Giants’ secondary may be in shambles. As his replacement, Isaac Yiadom will be the Number 1 Corner on Sunday Night. While Yiadom hasn’t been awful, he is not a good number 1 option. In 2018, Yiadom was drafted by the Denver Broncos then traded to the Giants early in 2020.
Since the Giants were in desperate need of a corner this offseason, General manager Dave Gettleman signed the former Panther, James Bradberry to a three-year deal in the 2020 offseason. The deal was worth $45 million.
James Bradberry’s 2020 Stats
Two Forced Fumbles
39 Solo Tackles
17 Pass Deflections
Although Bradberry was a solid piece of the Panthers’ defense in 2019, he has taken the next step in 2020. Without the help of defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, the Giants’ defense would be nowhere where it is now. Despite the shortened offseason, Bradberry has adjusted to becoming a Giant perfectly.
