2021 Allnysports NFL Mock Draft

2021 NFL Mock Draft 1.0

    1. Jaguars- Trevor Lawerence, QB, Clemson
      1. This is the obvious pick, feels like this was made a few months ago. Interesting thing is that according to people I know the Jaguars would have taken Zach Wilson at number 2 if the Jets went 0-16, they really liked Wilson to the point where some were wondering if he would be the pick. When Urban Myer took the job all those thoughts went out the window. Lawrence is my number 1 QB on my board, 4th best player overall. He is clearly the right pick in Jacksonville who is in desperate need for marquee names and talent, and can’t pass on Lawrence here.
    2. Jets- Zach Wilson, QB, BYU
      1. A lot of debate about whether the Jets should have kept Sam Darnold and traded this pick to gather more assets, with Sam being traded to Carolina this now becomes the obvious pick. Zach seems to be the perfect fit for the Shannahan offense that the Jets are looking to run, get him outside the pocket, has multiple delivery angles and is super athletic.
    3. 49ers- Mac Jones, QB, Alabama
      1. Let me be clear, Mac Jones is 5th on my draft board for QBs today. I like Mac Jones as a late first round pick the 5th year someone trades back up to get him type pick. This is a very safe pick by the 49ers. I don’t love it. I personally would take Trey Lance here, even though I have Fields ahead of Lance I just think Lance has the highest upside and if he could have some time to sit behind Jimmy G that would be great for him. That does not look to be the case of what they’re doing however it seems they will take Mac Jones a replica of Jimmy G.
    4. Falcons- Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State
      1. Again, yes I know I have Justin Fields rated ahead of Trey Lance. Atlanta could go Kyle Pitts here and I would love that pick for the Falcons Pitts is my number 1 player on the board. I just think Arthur Smith, a new coach is gonna look at this pick and say I already have so much offensive star power. If they trade back they could address defense but I am not gonna mock a trade that’s just too complicated so I think Atlanta takes the high risk high reward home run swing at a QB of the future and takes Lance.
    5. Bengals- Jaar Chase, WR, LSU
      1. The Burrow to Chase connection continues. The Bengals will have a tough choice here deciding between Penei Sewell, Chase and Kyle Pitts. The Bengals could pick Sewell just because of the importance of a great left tackle which I believe Sewell will be but have no problems if they go Pitts or Chase. I think Burrow is gonna want his guy, I think the Bengals will love the idea of pairing Tee Higgins and Chase together for the next 10 years and rolling with it. I have the Bengals going with Chase.
    6. Dolphins- Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon
      1. Again the debate will go inside that Dolphins war room about Pitts vs Sewell (and honestly there will be a hot second of Justin Fields note passing) I think Miami saw enough of Tua to build around him at least for now this is a great chance to sure up the offensive line with the best O-line prospect in this class to protect Tua who has shown to be fragile. Miami will protect their investment they made last year and take Sewell
    7. Lions- Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama
      1. KYLE PITTS IS FALLING!!! I believe the Lions will debate Waddle vs Devonte Smith here. In my board and in this mock I think Waddle wins the debate, when they were both healthy Waddle clearly the go to option in the offense. Everything he does is just a little better than Smith and with Smith weighing in at 166 yesterday that is absolutely cause for concern. I like Goff getting a guy that fits the Robert Woods, Brandin Cooks mold that he succeeded with in LA.
    8. Panthers- Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida
      1. Finally!! My number 1 player on the board! Mel Kipper is going nuts, he is still available, Rich Eisen is losing his mind and Greeny is about to make the point that the Panthers have already surrounded Sam Darnold with more talent then the Jets have ever had. Unfortunately it’s kinda true, Pitts, Robby Anderson, DJ Moore, a healthy CMC. Wow! Sam Darnold officially has no excuses either he can play or he can’t and we’re about to find out.
    9. Broncos- Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State
      1. The Broncos have been looking for the franchise QB since Peyton Manning walked out the door, between Trevor Semien, Paxton Lynch, Joe Flacco, Case Keenum, Brandon Allen, Brock Osweiler, Drew Lock, a game of QB by the running back committee. The search ends here Bronco fans. You may now rejoice. Fields has all the tools you would want, and had a very productive college career. Has to work on his delivery a little bit but he is someone that will be a major hit in Denver.
    10. Cowboys- Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama
      1. Jerry Jones is gonna want Devonte Smith here I have no doubt in my mind he will be stomping and screaming for the heisman trophy winner, just like he took Ceedee Lamb last year to prevent him from getting to philly I think he will want Smith to prevent him from going to the Giants. However, just like with Zach Martin vs Johnny Maziel debate I think the Cowboys have to adress defense, I think someone is gonna talk Jerry off the ledge and tell him to do the right thing and take Patrick Surtain II.
    11. Giants- Devonte Smith, WR, Alabama
      1. Ok Giants, Daniel Jones is officially on the clock. No more excuses just like with Sam Darnold. Now Daniel Jones gets Kenny Golliday, Devonte Smith a healthy Saquon Barkley coming back, Evan Engram, John Ross, Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton. It is put up or shut up time for Daniel Jones. This is a very winnable division, the Giants will play tough defense and now they have the weapons and I am a fan of Joe Judge if the Giants are not at least in contention to win the division in December it’s time to find a new QB in the 2022 draft.
    12. Eagles- Rashawn Slater, OT, NorthWestern
      1. The Eagles already have a really solid Offensive line especially with Brandon Brooks coming back this year, If Jalen Hurts is gonna be the guy I think you’re either going playmaker or line here I don’t see the playmaker that is in the discussion for the 12th pick. This could be a trade down spot for Philly but I don’t mock trades so they’re gonna take the best offensive player available and turn their line from very good to elite.
    13. Chargers- Christain Darrisaw, OT, Va Tech
    14. Vikings- Kwity Paye, DE, Michigan
    15. Patriots- Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida
      1. Call it a surprise pick all you want, this one seems a touch obvious. I have Terence Marshall Jr out of LSU as my number 4 WR but I know not a lot of people do, New England would love to get their hands on Justin Fields or Trey Lance so look for them to try to make a move. In my mock they fall just short so they build around Cam for one more season adding Money to Aglahor, Bourne, Hunter Henry and Janu Smith for a total re brand of the Patriots supporting cast.
    16. Cardinals- Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina
    17. Raiders- Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State
    18. Dolphins- Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota
      1. Miami went offensive line with their first pick in the draft now they come right back with a weapon. Pairing Bateman up with Devonte Parker would be Miami’s best move here, I figure they would also take Toney if available to continue building around last years #5 picks in Tua.
    19. Washington Football Team- Taven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State
      1. Washington made the playoffs last year behind a great pass rush and a patient game controlling offense, they nearly took down the eventual super bowl champion Buccaneers with that model, they grabbed Ryan Fitzpatrick to replace Alex Smith under center and now they finally grab Trent Williams replacement in Jenkins.
    20. Bears- Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern
    21. Colts, Zaven Collins, OLB, Tulsa
    22. Titans- Caleb Farley, CB, Va Tech
      1. I actually have Farley as my CB1 on my big board, I absolutely love his potential I love his coverage and tackling ability, his injury history will fall him down some especially as Horn and Newsome continue to rocket up some boards, the Titans could take Marshall Jr here to try to replace Corey Davis but I just think Farley is too much value for them to pass up with this pick.
    23. Jets- Wyatt Davis, OG, Ohio State
      1. As a Jets fan, this is the most interesting pick of the night. The Jets could go in many directions here, they need a corner but prove just out of reach of Farley and as much as I like Assaunte Samuel Jr he is not a first round pick. The Jets need to address the guard position, a very important one in the Shannahan offense so I think they pass on the top RB’s and Samuel Jr and grab the top guard in this draft in Wyatt Davis.
    24. Steelers- Travis Eitenne, RB, Clemson
    25. Jaguars- Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU
    26. Browns- Azeez Ojulari, OLB, Georgia
    27. Ravens- Gregory Rousseau, Edge, Miami
    28. Saints- Jayson Oweh, LB, Penn State
    29. Packers- Terrence Marshall Jr, WR, LSU
    30. Bills- Najee Harris, RB, Alabama
      1. The Bills are scary, have you seen the Bills roster? It is absolutely stacked at every position. I like Zach Moss and Devin Singlitary a lot and I have a rule against picking RBs in the first round I am not a fan of it but this puts the Bills offense way over the top and if your gonna get into a shootout in January with Patrick Mahomes there is no such thing as having to many awesome playmakers.
    31. Ravens (Via KC in Orlando Brown trade)- Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas
    32. Buccaneers- Davis Mills, QB, Stanford
      1. Ok I am not 100% sure that Tampa Bay will make this pick. I just really love the idea of Davis Mills going number 32 to either Tampa Bay or in a trade with the Patriots. He fits that mold of QB, he has great upside, his pocket presence is really good and I think Tampa or New England would like to have the 5th year option on him either Tampa as the long term successor to Tom Brady or to New England as the last man standing who could play right away for them at QB which is why I have him going here even though I have Jamie Newman and Kellen Moond both ranked higher than him on my board.
