The New York Knicks took on Memphis’ Grizzlies in a game that went down to the wire. New York’s Knicks out worked Memphis, helping them catch fire again. The W tonight was lead by Julius Randle who scored 28 points. Taj Gibson picked up 12 rebounds which also help lead the Knicks to victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. New York played a solid 3 quarters of basketball, they won the first half, and the third quarter which was the reason they took home the W tonight. Playing on the road is never easy, and it is safe to say what a gritty win here tonight.
Knicks First Half
Both the Knicks and the Grizzlies put on a show during the first half. Both teams scored over 55 points in the first frame of the game. Playing without Nerlens Noel and Mitchell Robinson definite shoes on the court. Likewise, Taj Gibson didn’t play too badly. King Julius who is averaging 24 points a game, proved to Knicks fans that he is the real deal. Randle and other players such as Derrick Rose, Immanuel Quickly, and RJ Barrett also came to play in these first two quarters. From what most Knicks fans saw, these were two more awesome quarters of basketball. New York is really shaping out to be a playoff team. Your New York Knicks would lead 69 to 58 going into halftime. The boys in blue were ballers in this first half of basketball.
Knicks Second Half
the New York Knicks came out equally as strong as the previous two quarters. With the help of Derrick Rose, the knicks were able to net 97 points before quarter number four. Rose would finish this game with 25 points, 3 points under Julius Randle. Memphis did look dangerous at times during the third quarter, but the energy level was no match to the Knicks. Memphis failed 17 points short, as they only scored 80 in this quarter. Dillion Brooks really lead Memphis to a close game today. He finished with 25 points. The last quarter of play is where the Knicks would downfall. They allowed Memphis to crawl back into the game one bucket at a time. They would even close the game up, only trailing 6 late in the fourth. New York’s unexceptional play was tuned around as they locked down on defense, and scored important buckets on offense. The Knicks will stay hot, and score 118 as they ut hustle the Memphis Grizzlies 118-104.
The Knicks poor fourth quarter will result in losses against better teams. New York needs everyone back and healthy, 100% for a playoff run. Looking at the good, New York dominated and came out flying when it mattered. King Julius Randle had another fantastic game, scoring 28 points. This is Knicks hoops we like to see, and hopefully enough to go deep into the playoffs this year. The Grizzlies fall to .500 and New York takes the upper hand.
