Coming off some recent losses to strong teams including the Clippers, Nuggets, and Suns, the Knicks had a must-win game on Mothers Day versus the Clippers. LA, one of the best teams in the NBA at 45-23, looked to take a 2-0 lead on the series. But the Knicks had other plans.
Beginning of Game
The Clippers got off to a hot start, going 10-0 early in the first. But once Derrick Rose checked in, things changed quickly. The first quarter ended 29-26 Clippers, with both teams showing a strong approach.
Knicks Take Control of Game
Towards the end, the Knicks took the lead and never looked back. Holding the lead for the rest of the game, The Knicks shot 40% from three compared to the Clippers 34%. Derrick Rose put up 25 total points, and RJ Barrett shot 4/7 from three. On the defensive side of the ball, the Knicks dominated. New York held the clippers to 37-86 shooting. They also lead with 5 blocks compared to LAs 1. They outrebounded the Clippers and overall held their ground on the road at Staples.

The final stretch for the Knicks is not easy, but they have the home-court advantage for most of the games. First, they play the Lakers. Then the host Boston, Charlotte, and Boston. If they can win at least three of these games, they should be set and locked in with a playoff home-court advantage.
